If you are a non-profit organisation you can have a website designed and hosted on VICNET (http://www.vicnet.net.au) free-of-charge!

Free hosting is available for everyone at locations such as Yahoo GeoCities (http://geocities.yahoo.com/ps/learn2/HowItWorks4_Free.html) but you are expected to code your own pages. 

(There will also be banner ads and possibly pop-up ads as well on your page - carrying advertising for other people, for this reason I'd recommend this option only if you really must save money!)

If you are interested in creating a webpage with bleeding-edge technology you may wish to use the Ajax-powered site creation tool at http://www.protopage.com/v2


*2. Melbourne Below Design Service:

We offer a website design service through Cheap and Cheerful Websites (ABN 97 637 307 591).

A webpage containing basic information about your organisation can be created for as little as $20! (This can contain up to four images.)

Free updates are available for the first six weeks - it can take some time to finalise a design you are happy with. After that the site can be updated for $2.

Any typos are fixed at any time free-of-charge.

Hosting is available on the Melbourne Below domain for only $5 a year!

Our only stipend is a pair of links at the top and bottom of the page. (One link will go to the Melbourne Below Home Page, the other to the section of Melbourne Below you are linked to.) The rest of the page is yours to do with as you wish!
